Supervision Empowers Improvement, University-School Collaboration Strengthens English Teaching

On December 18, 2025, a delegation led by Liu Yanshi, Vice Dean (in charge of the overall work) of the SFL, Gu Yulan, Director of the English Teaching and Research Section, and Zhao Qianzi, internship supervisor, visited Nanba Primary School in Dachuan District to conduct a mid-term inspection of the educational practice for the Grade 2022 English majors. Li Yong, Secretary of the Party Branch and Principal of Nanba Primary School, Xu Jianchuan, Vice Principal, Huang Xia, Chairman of the Trade Union, together with all teachers of the English Teaching and Research Group led by Zhang Qin, participated in the activity. They observed the interns' demonstration lessons and conducted discussions on deepening university-local cooperation.


First of all, the delegation attended a demonstration class Helping at Home delivered by trainee teacher Zeng Weiya. In the class, Zeng Weiya adopted teaching methods such as task-based learning and situational teaching. While carrying out language teaching, she cleverly integrated labor education into the class, demonstrating solid lesson planning skills and excellent classroom teaching competence.


Subsequently, Nanba Primary School held a welcome ceremony and a university-school cooperation forum. In his speech on behalf of the school, Principal Li reviewed the cooperation history between the two institutions, expressed gratitude for the professional vitality brought by the interns, and pointed out that university-school cooperation serves as a valuable platform for integrating theory with practice and promoting mutual learning between teaching and learning. He expressed expectations for expanding more areas of cooperation in the future. Zhang Qin, Head of the English Teaching and Research Group, made professional comments on the demonstration class from the perspective of "consistency of teaching, learning and assessment", and put forward targeted optimization suggestions on classroom management and adapting to students' learning characteristics. Liu Yushuang, representative of the interns, shared her growth and gains during the internship and expressed sincere gratitude to the instructors.

In his concluding speech, Vice Dean Liu thanked Nanba Primary School for providing the practical platform and affirmed the interns' teaching performance. He emphasized that educational practice is a crucial component of normal university student training. Conducting teaching under the guidance of experienced teachers can effectively enhance students' educational practice capabilities. He encouraged the interns to cherish this opportunity, engage in frequent self-reflection, and continuously improve their comprehensive teaching skills.


This mid-term inspection has timely grasped the growth dynamics of the interns, further consolidated the consensus on university-school collaborative education, and provided important reference for optimizing the normal university talent training program and improving the practical teaching system.
