A learning session held by the Party Committee’s theoretical study center

 On April 21st, the School Party Committee’s theoretical study center held a learning session. The Party Secretary, Huang Tao, presided over the meeting and provided guidance on the study. Hou Zhongming, the deputy secretary of the Party Committee and the President of Sichuan University of Arts and Science, and Xu Xiaozong, a member of the Party Committee and the Vice President of the university, gave speeches separately.

 Huang Tao gave guidance on learning about“Studying and implementing the spirit of the Two Sessions and accelerating the high-quality development of the school.” He conveyed the important speech of General Secretary Xi Jinping during the Two Sessions, briefly introduced the content of the Two Sessions in 2023. Huang Tao emphasized that empty talk harms the country, and hard work develops the country. Party organizations and members at all levels throughout the school must deeply grasp the connotation of high-quality development and the requirements of the times. Firstly, we must promote high-quality development and grasp Xi Jinping’s Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a New Era. Secondly, we must enhance our responsibility for the high-quality development of education, and deeply understand the connotation of the era, fundamental tasks, and the goal of building a strong nation. Thirdly, we must grasp the key path of high-quality development of the school and recognize the strategic orientation of high-quality development, and make breakthroughs. Fourthly, we must hold political consensus for the high-quality development, strengthen the responsibility for Party building, promote the integration of party building and work, and strive to create a clean and upright political ecology.

 Hou Zhongming delivered a speech on “Deeply learning the spirit of the National ‘Two Sessions’ and vigorously promoting the construction of master’s degree-granting units”. He required all second-level party committees and departments to firmly stick to their political direction, and effectively unify their thoughts and actions with the spirit of the “Two Sessions”. He also called for adhering to Xi Jinping’s Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a New Era, combining the learning and implementation of the “Two Sessions” spirit with the study of Xi Jinping’s important speeches on education and the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the CPC. We should also promote learning the main spirit of the “Two Sessions”, as well as actively promote the construction of master’s degree-granting units. It is necessary to conduct investigations and studies in-depth under the theme of education and be aware of how to promote high-quality development, focus on the development of connotation, and establish a high-quality education system. Also, we need to focus on planning and development, comprehensively promote the construction of campus infrastructure. These requirements are aimed to promote high-quality development in education and make China’s education better.

 Xu Xiaozong delivered a speech titled “Enhancing Infrastructure Management Capability to Promote High-Quality Development”. He stated that school infrastructure work should be based on the fundamental guidance of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important discourse on high-quality development, combine with practical development, strengthen the selection and training of professional personnel, enhance departmental coordination and cooperation, and increase responsibility, in order to improve management capability and promote high-quality development of the school. Members of the Party Committee’s theoretical study center group, the Party Committee’s office,the Party Committee’s organization department,the Party Committee’s publicity department,the Party Committee’s teachers’ work department,the Party Committee’s students’ work department, science and technology office and so on attended the study session.
